Gevorg Melikyan

Gevorg Melikyan is an expert at the ARAR Civilizational Research Foundation. Between 2024 and 2025, he collaborated with the Foundation on a comprehensive security research project. He is a political analyst and holds a PhD in Political Science.
Dr. Melikyan is a co-author of the comprehensive security research project initiated by the ARAR Civilizational Research Foundation. The findings of the project were published in the book Comprehensive Security: Armenia’s Alternative in a Changing World, published by NewMag Publishing House in 2025 with the support of the ARAR Civilizational Research Foundation.

Dr. Melikyan earned his PhD in Political Science from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in 2021 and received his Master’s degree in Political Science from Ohio University, USA, in 2010. He was also a recipient of the prestigious U.S. Government-sponsored Muskie Graduate Fellowship.

Dr. Melikyan also completed academic placements at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C., in 2010 and at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Strasbourg, France, in 2005.

Gevorg Melikyan is the founder of the Armenian Institute for Resilience & Statecraft. He teaches at various universities and think tanks. Between 2018 and 2022, he served as Foreign Policy Adviser to the fourth President of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian. He currently serves as President of the GCMC Armenia Alumni Association.

Dr. Melikyan’s research and professional interests include foreign and security policy, hybrid warfare, comprehensive security and resilience, military alliances, regional security, and conflict management. He is the author of numerous scholarly publications.
